2000

Sub-committee was formed in the Buddhist Fellowship (BF) to start a mission that focuses on overseas humanitarian mission.
The other objective is to encourage Young Buddhists to embark into community work, especially in helping the materially less fortunate ones in the neighbouring countries.
Other organizations such as Burmese Buddhist Temple (BBT), Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery (KMSPKS) and National University of Singapore Buddhist Society (NUSBS) were invited to participate in our 1st overseas humanitarian mission to Union of Myanmar in June 2001.

2001

June : Song of Apsaras - Myanmar
Participated by about 60 volunteers from BF, BBT, KMSPKS and NUSBS.
This project was sponsored by BF, BBT, KMSPKS and Wat Palelai.

2002

Met a group of friends from the Buddha Vihara Society who share same passion in humanitarian work
April : Participated in the "Project Food-Aid" - Galle, Sri Lanka
November - December : Song of Apsaras - Myanmar

2003

March : the Sub-committee is now officially named "Firefly Mission"
June : Firefly Mission - Sri Lanka
