Background History of Yathar Village Primary School

 

In 1968 the primary school was started at Yathar Village, Myingyan Townshipin Mandalay division.

Before this school all young villagers studied at local Monastery for their education. The primary school was for 2 villages, Yathar and Phayin. The school building was made wood.

 

There were around 2 hundred students in this school. About 30 years later, the roof of school getting old and it could not protect the rain. Building was bitted by insect.

 

In 1999, the school building collapsed into the ground. Then, there was no building for school students.

 

At present moment, they are using one of temple buildings to study for their education.

 

Now we are trying to build new building for primary school. You can see the pictures of school building under construction.

 

First of all, we were trying to build ourselves but we could not finish completely. We had to stop half way.

 

Fortunately, we received a kind help of Firefly mission of Singapore.

They support and donate for school building to finish completely. Now we continue to construct school building.
