Mexico Projects

Background

In 2023, Firefly Mission launched its first Latin America (LATAM) Dhammaduta project after meeting Bhante (Ayasma) Rahula during a trip to Malaysia. We were deeply inspired by the vibrant energy Bhante exhibits and the ongoing efforts to spread the teachings of the Buddha in Mexico and throughout the LATAM region.

To ensure the continued success of Paññābhūmi Monastery in Mexico and provide greater opportunities for people to learn the Dhamma, Firefly Mission established the Mexico Dhammaduta Chapter in 2024.

Latest update from Bhante (Ayasma) Rahula from Paññābhūmi Dhamma Institute, Zapopan, Jalisco, MÉXICO, November 2024.

Bhante had been very busy in his Dhammaduta work after going back to Mexico in December 2023

- trying to complete the work at Paññābhūmi Dhamma Institute

- conducting meditation retreats in many Latin American countries

- giving Dhamma talks

- planting more seeds of Wisdom

FFM and a group of Firefly Mission’s members and volunteers had the opportunity to pledge and support Bhante Rahula’s Dhammaduta effort in Latin America for 3 years, from December 2023 - 2026

Depending on conditions, the support may be extended.

Dhammaduta trip in Singapore 2023 - 2024

Bhante (Ayasma) Rahula made a stopover in Singapore from 26 Dec 23 to 2 Jan 2024 and had the opportunity to conduct several Dhamma talks at Singapore Buddhist Mission and Palelai Buddhist Temple.
